OverviewIn 1916, Baroness Noémie de Rothschild decided to find a resort in her home country to rival St Moritz. On advice from her Norwegian ski instructor she visited the tiny village of Megève. So impressed was she that five years later she built the Palace Hotel Mont d'Arbois, which helped transform Megève into an international resort. Megève is a serious contender for the most stylish resort in the Alps. Extensive gentle skiing, good children's facilities, lavish hotels and superlative restaurants are all set in a village that oozes ambience.
