OverviewMorzine is a market town with all the appeal of an old-style chalet resort set in charming, wooded surroundings. The resort is part of the Portes du Soleil, a consortium of a dozen ski villages, ranging from large, internationally recognised resorts to the tiniest of unspoilt hamlets. It might be considered to be one of Europe's greatest overall ski areas were it not for one major fault: it is too low. With a top height of only 2,350m and the villages mostly below 1,200m, snow cover is by no means guaranteed. Altitude: 1000m-2466m | |
