OverviewTignes and the neighbouring linked resort of Val d'Isère are jointly marketed as L'Espace Killy, after Jean-Claude Killy, who swept the board of gold medals at the 1968 Winter Olympics. The quality of the skiing in the area is so varied and demanding that it has raised a whole generation of international experts who never ski anywhere else. A vertical drop of 1,900m, coupled with 97 lifts, with two high-speed underground railways, seven gondolas and three cable cars form the hardcore infrastructure. Altitude: 2100m-3456m | |
