OverviewAt 2,300 metres, at the far end of the Trois Vallées, this is the highest ski resort in Europe. As such, it is one of only a handful where you are virtually guaranteed snow at resort level over both Christmas and a late Easter. On a sunny day its functional, purpose-built architecture is almost pleasing. You can ski into the centre of the car-free village, and the horseshoe of surrounding peaks is dramatic. In bad weather this far above the tree-line, you may be forgiven for thinking you have been stranded amid the mountains of the moon; few places in the Alps are colder, and a white-out is just that. | With its snow covered roof, crafted doors and wood beams, the charming Fitzroy chalet located in Val Thorens, Europe's highest snow sure resort, makes an idyllic mountain retreat. |
Le Val Thorens hotel borders the slopes allowing guests to ski-in and ski-out.
Hotel Le Portillo is located in the Alpine ski resort of Val Thorens. It offers direct access to the ski slopes, 3 restaurants and a large balcony, with panoramic mountain views.
The Hotel Sherpa enjoys spectacular views of the resort and surrounding peaks. It is located at the top of the resort right on the slopes and near to the Peclet shopping centre and the nightlife. It is possible to ski to the hotel but there is a small 30 metre walk to the edge of the piste in the mornings.
Hotel Trois Vallees is centrally located just 100m from the ski school meeting point with wonderful views of the mountains and easy access to the slopes.
