OverviewBreckenridge was the beachhead for the British skiers' invasion of America in the 1980s. In the heart of the Rockies and boasting the infrastructure of a small city as well as the restored charm of an old mining "boom town", it remains a leader in the evolution of American skiing and snowboarding; it was the first resort in Colorado to permit snow- boarders. These days Breckenridge is under the same ownership as Beaver Creek, Keystone and Vail, and it has benefited from the huge sums of money that Vail Resorts is investing in its resorts.
